CURRICULUM VITAE (ENGLISH) Maarten van der Doelen was born on the 20 th of August 1989 in Den Dungen, The Nederlands. He underwent his pre-university education at Gymnasium Beekvliet in Sint-Michielsgestel and started to study Medicine at the Radboud university Nijmegen in 2008. During his study he was an active member of the medical study association and organized a large national benefit gala for medical students. During these years he was also a member of student volleyball association Heyendaal and student cycling association Mercurius in Nijmegen. His interest for urology arose during scientific research that he conducted as a student at the departments of urology and gynecology at the Radboudumc. Maarten did his senior and elective internships at the department of urology at the Radboudumc (supervisor dr. J.P.M. Sedelaar) and the department of urology at the Rijnstate hospital in Arnhem (supervisor dr. M.R. van Balken), respectively. His final research internship was carried out within the department of experimental urology at the Radboudumc (supervisors dr. J.P.F.A Heesakkers and prof. dr. J.A. Schalken). He graduated as a Medical Doctor in August 2015. In October 2015, he started doing research as a PhD candidate into radionuclides therapies in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. The outcomes of this research are described in this doctoral thesis. The research was carried out under supervision of prof. dr. W.R. Gerritsen, dr. I.M. van Oort and dr. N. Mehra. During the PhD project, Maarten collaborated with several national hospitals and the university hospital in Heidelberg, the Karolinska institute in Stockholm and the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore. Maarten presented his work at various national (DUOS) and international (EAU, EMUC, PROSCA, ASCO-GU) conferences. During his time as a PhD candidate at Radboudumc, he also performed various clinical tasks and worked for several months as a resident at the department of urology. In February 2019, Maarten started as a resident at the department of urology at the Catharina hospital in Eindhoven (supervisors dr. H.J.E.J. Vrijhof and dr. W.A. Scheepens). In July 2020, he started his urology residency program as a resident in training at the department of surgery at the Rijnstate hospital in Arnhem (supervisor dr. J.H.P. Lardenoije). In January 2022, he commenced with the urological part of his training at the Radboudumc in Nijmegen (supervisor prof. dr. J.A. Witjes).
